Where We Go

Over the past few years, our graduates have followed the national trend of pursuing subspecialty fellowships. Approximately 80% of our residents pursue fellowships and 44% of them decide to stay at UAB for their fellowship training. Of the 20% of who decide to pursue general internal medicine, the majority pursue careers in hospitalist medicine, outpatient medicine, or traditional internal medicine – either academic or in private practice.
